Local sources in Kandahar Province reported that the Taliban Education Director in Dand District of the province was assassinated by unknown gunmen on Monday morning (June 12).
According to these sources, the deceased was named “Saeed Ahmad Salar” and was shot while going to the mosque on a motorcycle in the “Shahr-e-Kohna” area and died as a result.
No individual or group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, but this incident is considered part of a series of targeted attacks against Taliban members and officials in different parts of the country.
In recent months, similar cases of targeted assassinations have been reported in Kandahar, Nangarhar, and Farah provinces, indicating increasing security instability in Taliban-controlled areas.
