Border Attack from Afghanistan: Three Chinese Nationals Killed in Tajikistan.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan has announced that three Chinese citizens were killed in an armed attack launched from Afghan territory into Khatlon Province.
According to the statement, the attack occurred last night and was carried out using firearms and a drone equipped with a grenade, targeting the compound of employees of a private company named Shahin.
Tajikistan, while condemning the incident, called on the Taliban to take serious measures to ensure border security and prevent armed groups from operating in border regions. The statement emphasized that despite Dushanbe’s efforts to maintain stability, the activities of criminal groups based in Afghanistan continue to pose a threat to regional security.
No group has claimed responsibility so far, and the Taliban have not commented on the incident. Local sources previously reported that, in addition to the three Chinese nationals killed, four others were injured, though their identities remain unknown. The attack occurs amid growing concerns about militant groups operating inside Afghanistan and their expanding threat to Central Asia.
