China supports temporary ceasefire between Taliban and Pakistan.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said his country supports the decision of the Taliban and Pakistan to implement a temporary ceasefire and resolve differences through constructive dialogue.

He considered the move to be in line with the common interests of the two countries and to maintain peace and stability in the region, adding that Beijing will continue to play a constructive role in improving bilateral relations.

However, after the announcement of a 48-hour ceasefire between the Taliban and Pakistan, local sources in Kandahar reported that the Spin Boldak area witnessed attacks by the Pakistani army last night, resulting in the death of one civilian and the injury of four others.

The Taliban and the Pakistani army have not yet taken an official position, but Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid confirmed that the ceasefire was established at Pakistan’s request.

Meanwhile, Pakistani officials, including Shahbaz Sharif and Khawaja Muhammad Asif, have stressed that they condemn terrorist acts from Afghan soil against Pakistan and have warned that any ceasefire violation will be met with a serious response from Islamabad.

Shahbaz Sharif claimed that the Pakistani army had responded to the Taliban aggression, and Asif called the ceasefire “fragile” and announced readiness for a decisive response.
