The National Resistance Front of Afghanistan has reported multiple Taliban casualties in Herat province. In a statement, the Front said that during three separate operations conducted by its forces over recent days, five Taliban members were killed. The operations were carried out as part of intensified counter-terrorism efforts and in response to deteriorating security conditions in various regions of the country.

According to the statement, the first operation occurred at 8:30 PM on January 17, 2026, in Shindand district, resulting in two Taliban members killed and the seizure of a firearm and a communication device.

The second operation took place around 6:00 PM on January 27, 2026, in the industrial town of Guzara district, where one Taliban member was killed and a weapon confiscated.

In the third operation at 7:00 PM on January 29, 2026, along Majidi Road in Herat city, two more Taliban members were killed during an attack on the group’s intelligence personnel.

The National Resistance Front emphasized that none of its forces were harmed during these operations.
