Deadly Kunar Earthquake; The number of victims of the Kunar earthquake exceeded 5,800.

Four days after the deadly earthquake struck Kunar province, the Taliban announced that the death toll from the event had reached 2,205 people and the number of injured had reached 3,640.

Hamdullah Fitrat, the Taliban’s deputy spokesman, said in a press release that rescue forces have so far pulled the bodies of hundreds of people from under the rubble in the districts of Choki, Dara Diwa Gul, Dara Chapa and Manogi.

Despite limited relief efforts, the earthquake victims in Kunar continue to suffer from a lack of basic amenities.

Many homeless families are spending their nights in the open, and according to local residents, the aid promised by countries and international organizations has not yet reached the affected areas.

Residents of the affected districts, expressing concern about the current crisis, emphasize that if the Taliban and humanitarian organizations do not take immediate action, there is a possibility of a humanitarian disaster spreading in these areas.

They have called for the allocation of safe places for the transfer of homeless families and immediate treatment of the injured.

Meanwhile, a number of civil society activists have called on businessmen and Afghans living abroad to take immediate action to help the victims of this event.

The World Food Program has also announced that it has not yet been possible to deliver aid to some remote and difficult-to-reach villages.
