Details of Pakistan’s Surprise Airstrikes; Heavy Taliban Casualties Reported.
Local sources report large-scale and unexpected Pakistani airstrikes on Taliban positions in Kabul, Kandahar, and parts of Paktia province attacks that, according to these sources, resulted in numerous Taliban casualties and injuries.
Eyewitnesses say Dand-e-Patan district and areas of Chamkani district in Paktia were among the locations heavily targeted by bombardment.
Videos circulating from the scene show the sound of fighter jets dominating the skies while Taliban forces respond by firing heavy weapons, including DShK machine guns, into the air.
Local sources also report that a Taliban centre in the Pul-e-Charkhi area of Kabul was struck, leading to a highly tense security situation in the surrounding area.
Reports further indicate that some Taliban military facilities in Kandahar province were also targeted by air attacks.
Local sources say fear of renewed bombardment has prompted Taliban forces to vacate certain corps headquarters during the night, leaving only limited guard units at the bases a development that has increased concerns about a possible escalation of conflict and further instability.
