Local sources in Takhar province say that dozens of teachers in Baharak district have not received their salaries for several months.
Teachers in this district, who did not want to be named, told the media that teachers in 27 schools in Baharak have not received their salaries for the month of Dilu last year and the months of Harl and Saur this year.
According to this source, in early Saur, only the salaries for the month of Hut were paid, but due to lack of budget, the salaries for the month of Dulu could not be paid.
He added that 440,000 Afghanis remained from the budget allocated for the month of Hut, which was only able to pay the salaries of teachers in six schools for the month of Dulu, while teachers in 27 other schools are still in a state of desperation.
