Erdogan: Taliban must form an inclusive and accountable government.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called on the Taliban to adopt an inclusive approach to their governance and pay attention to human values and people’s rights on Tuesday during the United Nations General Assembly.

He stressed that the international community should not leave the people of Afghanistan alone and that Turkey will always stand by the people of this country.

On the first day of the forum, Erdogan was the only foreign leader to specifically address the Afghan crisis and highlight the need to pay attention to social justice and the participation of all segments of society.

Erdogan also recalled that over the past four years, regional countries and the international community have repeatedly called on the Taliban to form an inclusive government and respect the rights of ethnic and religious minorities.

However, by concentrating power in their hands, the Taliban have handed over state institutions to members of the group and rejected global calls for respect for human rights, especially women’s rights, claiming that their actions are in accordance with Islamic law.

The speech shows that international pressure on the Taliban remains necessary to guarantee people’s rights and establish an inclusive government.

World leaders have repeatedly emphasized the importance of the participation of all ethnic groups and groups in governing the country, but so far no practical progress has been made and the social and legal situation of the Afghan people remains fragile.
