Amid the escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, a wave of diplomatic calls and international statements has emerged.
French President Emmanuel Macron called on Iranian President Masoud Peshkeshian to immediately return to the nuclear negotiating table.
He warned of the risk of regional instability and stressed the need for restraint and the release of two French citizens detained in Iran.
On the other hand, Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif called Israel’s attacks on Iran a clear violation of international law and supported Iran’s right to self-defense under the UN Charter.
In a separate development, Oman’s foreign minister announced that planned talks between Iran and the United States in Muscat had been canceled.
Tehran cited the continued Israeli attacks as the reason for this decision.
At the same time, the White House and the Kremlin have announced a 50-minute phone call between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump about the recent crisis.
In this call, Putin condemned the Israeli attacks and both sides have not ruled out the possibility of returning to negotiations.
In contrast, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced in a video message Trump’s clear support for the recent attacks on Iran, describing it as part of a “joint fight against a common enemy.”
