EU funding for a women’s addiction treatment centre in Jawzjan.

The European Union has announced that it has funded a women’s and girls’ addiction treatment centre in Jawzjan province.

The 20-bed centre will provide treatment and rehabilitation services to women addicts.

The project is being implemented in partnership with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and is part of the EU’s efforts to improve public health in Afghanistan.

The EU is also supporting a physical rehabilitation centre in Mazar-e-Sharif, run by the Norwegian Aid Agency.

The centre has so far provided services to more than 30,000 patients with disabilities, more than half of whom are children.

The EU has stressed its continued support for the health and social welfare sectors and said it will continue to support the Afghan people, especially women and children.
