Exhumation and Shooting of Resistance Commander’s Body in Baghlan.

Local sources in Baghlan Province reported that Taliban fighters exhumed the body of a commander belonging to an anti‑Taliban resistance group and shot at his corpse after it had been buried.

According to these sources, the incident occurred on Monday, 5 January 2026, in Nahrin District.

The deceased was a commander of the resistance who had died several days earlier in the mountainous area of the district and was buried by his companions.

Sources indicate that the commander had left the area approximately 12 days prior following an armed clash with the Taliban, and later died under circumstances described as a “mysterious incident.”

After his burial, Taliban fighters dug up his grave and fired shots at his lifeless body.

This follows previous reports from various provinces of Taliban violent treatment of resistance members, including executions of fighters after capture.
