A memorial ceremony for the late Amanullah Khalilyar, a prominent media figure and a pioneer of Uzbek-language publications in Afghanistan, was held on Saturday at the Maltepe Mosque in Ankara. The event was attended by a large gathering of cultural figures, politicians, academics, social activists, and fellow citizens.

In speeches, Haji Ahmad, representing Khalilyar’s family, expressed gratitude for the attendees’ presence and highlighted Khalilyar’s cultural contributions, good character, and tireless efforts to preserve the Uzbek language and identity.

Qurbat, speaking on behalf of community elders, described Khalilyar as humble, patient, constructive, and respected across generations, emphasizing his role as a bridge between different generations and communities.

Journalist Homayoun Kheiri praised Khalilyar’s media work, describing him as a cultural pioneer and one of the founders of Uzbek publications in Afghan media.

Abdul Rahim Masoumi highlighted Khalilyar’s honesty, compassion, and humility, calling him a role model for youth. The ceremony concluded with prayers for Khalilyar’s soul and condolences to his family and the cultural community.
