Fateh: “I Will Stand Against Tyranny; I Seek No Position or Power”.
Juma Khan Fateh, a dissatisfied Taliban commander in Badakhshan Province, has rejected reports of a possible agreement with the Taliban leadership, saying he will not retreat from what he describes as a struggle against “tyranny.”
Fateh said his recent positions are the result of serious disagreements with the Taliban leadership and that no political agreement or settlement has been reached.
The commander stated that his goal is not to gain a position or government role, but to defend people’s rights and address the demands of local residents.
According to Fateh, the situation in some areas of Badakhshan requires serious attention, and ignoring public demands could further increase tensions.
Meanwhile, local sources had reported that Mullah Mohammad Yaqoob Mujahid, the Taliban’s Acting Minister of Defense, traveled to Badakhshan to assess the situation and hold talks with Fateh.
Sources said the visit took place amid heightened tensions between the two sides and was aimed at reducing disagreements, although no official details about the meetings have been released.
The statements come as reports indicate growing divisions between some local Taliban commanders and the group’s central leadership in Badakhshan.
