Fateh Rejects Taliban Demands: “Our Positions and Weapons Are Red Lines”.
Juma Khan Fateh, a Tajik Taliban commander in Badakhshan who has opposed the Taliban leadership, has rejected reports that his forces have surrendered or disarmed.
In a new message, Fateh said that claims of surrender were “false, baseless, and part of psychological warfare,” adding that his weapons and positions remain non-negotiable.
This was Fateh’s third message in one day, highlighting ongoing tensions between him and the Taliban leadership.
Local sources say the Taliban has deployed additional forces to areas under Fateh’s influence in Badakhshan while negotiations continue.
The dispute reportedly involves control over mines, authority of local commanders, and the future of Fateh’s forces, increasing concerns over further internal divisions within the Taliban.
