Local sources in Nangarhar have reported a fire at the provincial hospital in the province.
Naqibullah Rahimi, spokesman for the Taliban’s public health department in Nangarhar, confirmed the incident and said the fire broke out in the hospital’s obstetrics and gynecology ward.
According to Rahimi, the fire started around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and was caused by an electrical short circuit.
According to local Taliban officials, a firefighting team has been dispatched to the scene to control the fire.
The extent of the damage caused by the fire has not yet been determined.
