First round of Kankor 2025 exam begins in 11 provinces; girls still excluded

Kabul – The National Examinations Authority has announced that the process of taking the first round of the national Kankor exam 2025 has begun today in 11 provinces of the country and will continue tomorrow.

According to the official announcement of the authority on the social network X (formerly Twitter), the Kankor exam will be held in the provinces of Kapisa, Parwan, Panjshir, Baghlan, Ghor, Bamyan, Daikundi, Maidan Wardak, Logar, Paktika and Ghazni. About 25,300 candidates in these provinces have registered to take the exam.

While the Kankor process continues with the participation of thousands of male candidates, Afghan girls are still excluded from continuing their education at higher levels and participating in the national exam. This exclusion has led to widespread reactions at the domestic and international levels, and human rights organizations have considered it a clear violation of women’s right to education.

Experts warn that continuing these policies will not only seriously endanger the future of the female generation, but will also have irreparable effects on the country’s long-term development and stability.
