Five killed and dozens wounded in Pakistani airstrikes on Kabul.
At least five civilians have been killed and dozens wounded in Pakistani airstrikes on parts of the Afghan capital, officials at an emergency hospital in Kabul say.
According to hospital officials, 40 injured were taken to the center from the scene, 10 of whom are in critical condition. The victims include women and children.
The director of the hospital said most of the injured suffered from cracks, severe injuries and burns.
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNAMA) says recent clashes and attacks between Pakistani forces and the Taliban have caused heavy civilian casualties.
According to witnesses, two powerful explosions occurred in the Taymani area on Wednesday afternoon, causing heavy casualties and breaking the windows of surrounding houses.
The Pakistani military said the operation targeted the “leadership of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP)”.
