Forced displacement of hundreds of families in Ghor

Forced displacement of hundreds of families in Ghor; The Taliban are taking revenge on the people.

Local sources in Ghor province say Taliban militants have forced dozens of families to leave their homes in Dolat Yar district of the province. According to local residents, Taliban fighters have displaced more than 600 families from six villages in the Kashro Valley in the past two days at gunpoint.

The families are from Sangshore, Darwazeh, Dehn Ghori, Jira Gak, Narm Tab and Haji Abad villages and say they are leaving homes they inherited from their ancestors.

The Taliban blamed the migration on a land dispute between the two ethnic groups, Taymani and Sardarkhel. But local sources say the Taliban’s decisions are one-sided and biased. Ahmad Shah Din Dost, a senior Taliban commander whose wife is from the Sardarkhel tribe, is said to have ruled in favor of the tribe and taken the houses of the Taymani by force.

Earlier, the Taliban Ulema Council in Ghor had decided to divide the land between the two sides, but Din Dost rejected the decision and ordered the complete evacuation of the land.

Some sources say the Taliban’s actions are not just because of ethnic differences, but a form of revenge. Because the Taymani tribe had resisted the Taliban during the previous government.

Dozens of people have been killed and many families displaced in the fighting. Despite the unfolding humanitarian disaster, no official or human rights body has responded so far.

Locals warn that continuing such discriminatory practices will not only destroy justice, but will also lead to deep ethnic enmities in the region.
