Former CIA officer: Taliban leaders should be shot directly

Sarah Adams, a former agent of the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), has called for a military response to the Taliban leaders in response to the issuance of arrest warrants.

On Wednesday, July 8, she wrote in a message on the social network X addressed to the Taliban leader Haibatullah Akhundzada and Abdul Hakim Haqqani, the head of the group’s Supreme Court: “Not just arrest, they should be shot directly.”

Sarah Adams is a critic of the Taliban and the West’s appeasement policies towards the group. She has repeatedly warned that the Taliban have given terrorists safe haven and are a threat to global security.

The International Criminal Court yesterday charged Taliban leaders with ordering or encouraging the commission of crimes against humanity, including gender-based violence, and issued arrest warrants for them.
