Local sources in Badghis say that a former soldier was shot dead by unknown gunmen on Sunday night in the Jawalaq area of Qadis district.
The man was 30 years old and, according to a source, the Taliban were responsible for his murder; according to the source, the victim had no enmity with anyone.
The Taliban have not commented on this matter so far. Since the Taliban’s return to power, there have been numerous reports of the arrest, torture, and murder of former soldiers.
