From Qatar to Syria; Iranian missile and mortar attacks against US positions

Following the increase in tensions between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States, unofficial and unconfirmed reports of missile attacks on US bases in several countries in the region and the activation of warning sirens in various parts of the Persian Gulf have been published.

According to news sources including Al-Arabiya, Iran has fired several ballistic missiles at US bases in Qatar, Iraq and Syria in the past few hours.

These attacks were carried out while warning sirens were said to have sounded in Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and at the “Harir” air base in Iraq.

The Fars news agency also reported that a US military base in northeastern Syria was attacked with mortars.

According to local sources, the attack targeted the “Qasrak” base in northwest Hasakah, and the source of the fire remains unclear.

At the same time, reports have been published that the runway and aircraft hangars at the Al-Udeid base in Qatar – known as the largest US military base in the Middle East – were targeted. Official American sources have not yet confirmed or denied these reports.

In another development, the Wall Street Journal reported that Washington has asked Arab officials to convey an indirect message from Israel to Tehran.

According to the report, Israel has announced that it does not want to continue the tension and is seeking an end to the conflict.

On the other hand, the Iranian armed forces have issued a statement warning that “any repetition of the aggression will be met with a harsh response and will accelerate the collapse of the US military infrastructure in the region.”

According to Iranian sources, the operation was launched under the code name “Bisharat Fatah” and the code name “Ya Aba Abdullah Al-Hussein (AS)” and included targets at US bases in Qatar and Iraq.

Some sources have also reported that Turkish Airlines has temporarily canceled its flights to the United Arab Emirates, although the reason for this decision has not been officially announced.

So far, there has been no official response from US officials or the countries hosting the targeted bases.
