General Malik: The solution to Afghanistan peace is ‘international’ dialogue with international oversight

General Abdul Malik, the leader of the Freedom Party, has called for the start of an “international” discourse under the supervision of the United Nations and the Islamic Conference in response to recent statements by Taliban Foreign Minister Amir Khan Mottaki, calling the intra-Afghan talks a failed experiment.

The comments followed Amir Khan Mottaki’s remarks in an interview with Al Jazeera, where he called the intra-Afghan talks a failed experiment and stressed the need for direct engagement with the Taliban.

General Malek ironically said that he welcomed Mottaki’s words and added: “The inter-Afghan dialogue abroad under the supervision of foreigners and inside the country in the name of Jirga, etc., under the supervision of the person sitting in the presidential palace, has not yielded positive results to date, has hindered progress and solidarity and has strengthened the war in Afghanistan. is.”

He stressed that to end war and fratricide, an international discourse should begin under the supervision of international institutions to provide the ground for lasting peace and national solidarity.
