Unknown gunmen shot and killed Naqibullah, a local athlete and money changer, near Behtarin Alam Mosque in Taloqan, Takhar Province, on Thursday, July 2, 2026.
The attackers reportedly fled on motorcycles. No group has claimed responsibility, and Taliban officials have not issued a statement. The killing comes amid growing concerns over targeted attacks and rising criminal violence in Takhar.
