Increase in security incidents; at least 13 incidents were recorded in Afghanistan in June.
The latest report by the Afghanistan Security Monitor shows that in June 2025, at least 13 security incidents were recorded in different parts of Afghanistan; a country ruled by the Taliban.
According to the report, which was published on Friday (July 3), 12 of these incidents were confirmed by independent sources.
The details of the report indicate that during this period, three attacks were carried out by the “Freedom Front”, one by the “Green Zone”, three incidents were carried out as a result of operations by Taliban forces, and five other attacks were carried out by unknown perpetrators.
A statistical comparison of this report with May shows that the number of attacks attributed to anti-Taliban fronts decreased by four in June.
Among the highlights, the report cites clashes between Taliban forces and civilians in the Khash district of Badakhshan province, which left 15 people dead and about 60 injured.
The Security Watch also said that five attacks in Kandahar, Kunduz, Nangarhar and Parwan provinces were organized by unknown individuals or groups.
The report comes as the Taliban, despite their nationwide control, continue to claim to have established complete security in the country; however, observers say that many security incidents, including murders and robberies, are not reported in the media for various reasons and the actual number may be much higher than the official figures.
