Iranian President Masoud Pezhikian met with Amir Khan Mottaki, the Taliban government’s acting foreign minister, on the sidelines of the Tehran Dialogue Forum.
Hafez Zia Ahmad, deputy spokesman for the Taliban’s foreign ministry, announced on Sunday (May 18) in a message on the social network X (formerly Twitter) that the main focus of the meeting was to review bilateral relations and the situation of Afghan refugees living in Iran.
According to him, the Iranian President described Afghanistan and Iran as “two good neighbors” and emphasized his country’s readiness to expand bilateral relations in all fields.
