Latif Pedram Condemns the “Alignment” Meeting as Submission to the Taliban.
Latif Pedram, leader of the Afghanistan National Congress Party, condemned the “alignment” meeting of anti-Taliban political factions, describing it as “submission to the Taliban.”
In a statement, he criticized the participation of “three political streams,” including the Rescue Council, Hanif Atmar, and Omar Daudzai, calling it a green light for pro-Taliban factions.
According to Pedram, the statement effectively legitimizes Taliban power and demonstrates the weakness of opposition forces.
Pedram argued that the content of the statement shows that these factions accept the Taliban government, seek only reforms and a share in power, oppose armed resistance and forced removal of the Taliban, and consider inter-Afghan negotiations the sole path to resolving differences.
He warned that continuing such approaches, along with corruption, exploitation, and service to foreign powers, would undermine people’s rights and the credibility of some political factions.
Pedram emphasized that new generations and fresh ideas must have the opportunity to act and save the country, noting that many talented young people have been lost to corruption and hopelessness due to past mistakes.
He described his statement as a message to the national and international community to reconsider and prevent the continuation of these misguided approaches.
