Leadership Uncertainty in Junbish Party; Qaisari Declares Himself General Secretary.

Nizamuddin Qaisari, a prominent political figure in northern Afghanistan, has officially announced himself as the General Secretary of the National Islamic Movement of Afghanistan (Junbish Party).

In a video statement, he said the decision was made with the support of a number of party members and supporters, and that the aim was to “revive the political role of the movement.”

This move comes as no official response has yet been issued by Marshal Abdul Rashid Dostum’s close associates or the party’s central office. Sources close to Qaisari said the decision was made in coordination with several party members, though details of the process remain unclear.

The previous party leadership was held by Batur Dostum, Marshal Dostum’s eldest son, who assumed the role based on an internal agreement rather than through an internal party election. The absence of an official statement from the party office has caused confusion and uncertainty among members and supporters of the political movement.
