Major Fire Breaks Out in Dasht-e Qala Market, Takhar.

Reliable sources report that a large fire broke out in the Bandar-e Nawabad area of Dasht-e Qala district in Takhar province.

As a result of the incident, seven shops in a newly constructed market were engulfed in flames, causing significant financial losses to shop owners. According to sources, the fire started at approximately 7:30 PM and continued until 10:30 PM.

Initial efforts by shopkeepers to contain the fire were unsuccessful due to the intensity of the flames and the lack of firefighting equipment.

However, cooperation among local residents eventually prevented the fire from spreading further. The exact cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

Three shops were completely destroyed, while several others were partially damaged. Sources estimate that the financial losses amount to millions of Afghanis.

Sources warn that the absence of firefighting centers and essential equipment in districts beyond the Kokcha River remains a serious challenge, and that residents continue to suffer heavy financial losses during similar incidents.
