Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s readiness to mediate between the Taliban and the Pakistani government.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the leader of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Pakistan party, has announced his readiness to mediate in peace talks between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
He stressed that holding such talks requires providing a suitable and calm environment.
Speaking to reporters in Islamabad on Tuesday, Fazlur Rehman said that if the talks are held in a tense atmosphere, they will not yield any effective results.
Referring to the need to stop the “propaganda and statement war” between the two countries, he added that Pakistan and Afghanistan are of strategic importance to each other and should resolve existing challenges through dialogue.
