In the shadow of claims of ensuring security; members of a family were shot in Ghazni
In the continuation of the wave of insecurity in Afghanistan, local sources in Ghazni province say that unknown gunmen shot members of a family in the Qarabagh district of the province last night.
According to sources, the incident occurred late on Sunday night, July 13, in the village of Khalukhel, and as a result, five members of a family, including a woman and three children, died.
The victims of the attack are Hazrat Yunus, a 40-year-old man, his wife Darkhani, 35, and their three children, Hazrat Ghani, 9, Javed, 5, and a seven-year-old girl. A six-year-old girl named Bibi Hasna was also injured in the attack.
Witnesses said the attackers fled the scene on a motorcycle after committing the crime. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack, and the Taliban have not commented on the incident.
The incident comes at a time when the Taliban have repeatedly spoken of providing nationwide security in the country; however, the increase in targeted attacks and mysterious killings in different parts of the country has raised serious doubts about the group’s ability or willingness to protect citizens.
