Mohammad Mohaqeq Reacts to Religious Pressure on Hazaras.

Mohammad Mohaqeq has reacted to what he described as escalating religious pressure against Hazaras.

He reported an intensification of restrictions on Shiites in western Kabul, stating that in recent days the Taliban have prevented Shiite families from burying their deceased in a shared Shiite – Sunni cemetery.

According to Mohaqeq, these restrictions have created serious difficulties for affected families, and reports indicate that dozens of people have been detained in connection with these incidents.

In a message posted on his Facebook page, he wrote that such actions form part of a broader pattern of religious and ethnic pressure against Hazaras and are inconsistent with national and international norms and standards.

Mohaqeq also referred to the destruction of the Sayyed Jafar Agha shrine in the Alimardani area of Kabul and the closure of the Imam Hussein (AS) educational and cultural complex in the same district.

He warned that justifying these actions under the pretext of preventing “polytheistic practices” is dangerous and alarming, undermines social stability, and threatens national unity.

He urged the current authorities in Kabul to halt these measures and prevent further religious and ethnic tensions
