Mujahid: on direct order of Taliban leader Pakistan’s military are legitimate targets.
Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson for the Taliban, said in an interview with the media in a severe and warning tone that Taliban will directly target Pakistan’s military on the direct order of their leader.
He claimed that the Pakistan Army “has targeted civilians” and stressed that the Taliban do not target non‑combatants, but will act against Pakistan’s military forces.
Mujahid also alleged that in this autumn’s clashes, the Taliban destroyed 20 Pakistan military outposts in one day and killed 58 soldiers of that country.
He went on to say that three Pakistani soldiers who were captured were released last week, but warned that if attacks continue, the Taliban’s reaction “will be heavier and broader.”
Mujahid also stated on the social platform X that certain “specific military circles in Pakistan” are responsible for recent attacks, claiming that Pakistani generals are using these actions to cover up internal security weaknesses.
At the same time, Taliban officials in Nangarhar province reported heavy casualties following last night’s Pakistani air strikes.
Sayed Tayyib Hammad, spokesperson for the Taliban command in this province, said that in attacks on the Behsud, Khogyani, and Ghani Khel districts, at least 18 people were killed and five others wounded, including women and children among the victims.
According to him, five bodies remain under rubble and search operations continue; an event that has pushed tensions between Kabul and Islamabad into a new and dangerous phase.
