Mujahid: The ceasefire agreement with Pakistan has not been finalized yet.
Zabihullah Mujahid, a spokesman for the Taliban government, said the ceasefire agreement between the Afghan and Pakistani Taliban had not been finalized yet and that was why the details were not made public.
He told Deutsche Welle that part of the talks is scheduled to continue on October 25 in Istanbul, Turkey.
The agreement includes a ceasefire, mutual respect, refraining from attacking security forces and civilians, and refraining from supporting attacks against each other, Mujahid said.
The Taliban spokesman stressed that his group would not support any militant movement against Pakistan, adding: “This is part of the official policy of the Islamic Emirate.”
The Pakistani defense minister had earlier said the details of the agreement were confidential and that the ceasefire would be lifted if the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) continued to attack.
Mujahid also said that border disputes should be resolved through dialogue and based on common interests so as not to damage current relations.
