Mysterious murders in the shadow of the Taliban; the body of a man was found in a gruesome manner in Ghor.
In the wake of a wave of targeted and suspicious killings in Afghanistan, local sources in Ghor province have reported that the body of a man was discovered in a gruesome manner in the Allahyar district of the province.
The incident was confirmed to the Return News Agency on Tuesday, July 29, by local sources.
According to the sources, the deceased was named Sibghatullah and was a resident of the Jalai area of Jwand district in Badghis province.
The motive and perpetrators of the murder are still unclear, and Taliban officials have not commented on the matter.
This comes after local sources previously reported that the body of a former soldier, allegedly killed by the Taliban, was found in the mountains of the same district.
Although the Return News Agency cannot independently confirm or deny this claim, evidence shows that the level of violence in Ghor province and other areas has increased alarmingly.
The mysterious killings, repeated threats, and the atmosphere of fear and silence in the face of these crimes are testament to the continuing insecurity in Taliban-controlled areas, where justice is absent and the voices of victims are not heard.
