National Resistance Front: Seven Taliban Members Killed and Wounded in Kunduz.

The National Resistance Front (NRF) has announced that seven members of the Taliban were killed and wounded in a targeted operation in Kunduz Province.

According to the group’s statement, on Wednesday, 7 January 2026, NRF fighters attacked Taliban patrol vehicles, resulting in the killing of three Taliban members and the wounding of four others.

The operation took place at 6:50 p.m. local time, near the central square, in front of Haji Nazakmir Sarai, within the Taliban’s First Security District in the city of Kunduz.

The statement adds that two Taliban military vehicles were destroyed during the operation.

The National Resistance Front emphasized that no NRF fighters or civilians were harmed.

It said the purpose of such targeted attacks is to liberate the people and the country from what it described as the Taliban’s illegitimate rule.

The Taliban have so far not commented on the attack or the reported casualties.

In recent weeks and months, several significant attacks have been carried out by armed groups opposed to the Taliban in northern provinces, inflicting notable losses on the group.

Local sources say the continuation of these attacks could affect Taliban control in northern regions and place serious pressure on security in these provinces.
