National Resistance: in a deadly ambush near Kunduz Airfield several Taliban were killed.
The Afghan National Resistance Front issued a statement reporting a targeted and deadly attack against Taliban forces in the city of Kunduz.
The group said that as a result of this operation, three Taliban members, including a local commander, were killed and two others wounded, an incident that has again inflamed the security atmosphere in the city.
According to the details provided, this attack occurred on the evening of Saturday, February 21, 2026, at around 7 PM in the Bander-e Kabul area near Kunduz Airfield.
The target of the operation was a Taliban patrol vehicle that, according to the Resistance Front, was carrying the group’s “commander of the belt” and his men, and was conducting a night patrol across the city.
The Resistance Front stressed that this attack was designed to avoid harm to civilians, and claimed that none of its own forces were harmed during the operation.
The group added that targeted attacks against the Taliban in various parts of the country will continue.
Taliban have not yet issued any official response to this claim.
This comes as armed opposition attacks against Taliban forces in northern Afghanistan have increased significantly in recent months, inflicting considerable casualties on the Taliban.
