New details emerge from the brutal murder of Afghan immigrant woman Kobra Rezaei in Tehran

A few days after the brutal murder of an Afghan immigrant woman in Tehran; her mutilated body was discovered in the home of an Iranian man.

The dismembered body of Kobra Rezaei, a young Afghan immigrant woman who had disappeared about 50 days ago, was discovered in the home of an Iranian man in Tehran.

According to informed sources, the 32-year-old killer was one of the victim’s colleagues at a home appliance factory and confessed to the murder after being presented with evidence by the police.

Police say the killer had a nervous breakdown after learning of Kobra’s engagement and killed her, then tried to destroy the evidence of the crime by using acid. Part of the body had previously been found in the Pishva area among the garbage.

The charges against the accused include premeditated murder, mutilation of the body, and attempting to destroy the evidence of the crime with acid.

The funeral of the victim was held under heavy police supervision and without permission to film.

While official Iranian media outlets have not published details of the crime, social media users have called this silence an example of media discrimination and neglect of migrants.

The incident occurred at a time when, along with increasing government pressure on migrants, cases of harassment, deportation, and violence against Afghan refugees in Iran have increased significantly.
