New revelation by Atta Mohammad Noor

New revelation by Atta Mohammad Noor; Accusation of transferring millions of dollars to Panjshir one day before the fall of Kabul.

Atta Mohammad Noor, the former governor of Balkh and a prominent jihadist figure, has once again opened up controversy in the political space by making new accusations on the fourth anniversary of the fall of the republic.

In an interview with Afghan journalist Anisa Shaheed, he said that Amrullah Saleh, the former First Vice President, transferred tens of millions of dollars of government money from Kabul to Panjshir just one day before the fall of Kabul on August 14, 2021; money that, according to him, was discovered and confiscated in several places after the Taliban took control.

Atta Noor called Ashraf Ghani and Amrullah Saleh among the main factors in the collapse of the republic and said that the leaders of the time, despite being fully aware of the Taliban’s entry into Kabul, did not take any practical action to prevent its fall.

He also claimed that he had purchased hundreds of thousands of weapons with borrowed money to fight the Taliban and is still in debt.

Noor accused Ashraf Ghani of removing jihadi leaders from power and plotting against them, an action that he believed had destroyed the system’s defense structure.

He has also gone further, saying that some Western countries and the republic’s leadership were involved in the targeted assassination of jihadi leaders, with the aim of eliminating Taliban opponents and weakening the resistance.

The fall of Kabul on August 15, 2021, remains one of the most sensitive and controversial events in recent years; an event that critics believe was the result of widespread corruption, internal disputes, and even behind-the-scenes agreements with the Taliban.
