New update on Zalaleh Hashemi.
Afghan singer Ariana Sayed has confirmed that Zalaleh Hashemi, a former participant in the television program Star Afghan, is alive and in good condition.
On Wednesday, Saeed posted a video on her Facebook page stating that she recently spoke with Hashemi by phone and confirmed that she is currently in a safe location.
Saeed denied reports of Hashemi’s disappearance, explaining that she had fled her home. According to Saeed, Hashemi’s husband, Mohsen, had provided misleading reports to the media claiming she was missing in order to locate her.
Saeed added that Hashemi experienced domestic violence from her husband during her marriage and even while pregnant. She had successfully obtained a divorce approximately three years ago but returned to her husband’s house due to certain personal difficulties.
Mohsen Hashemi has not yet commented on these claims. Earlier, in the month of Jawza (May-June), reports had circulated suggesting Hashemi’s disappearance, and in some cases, her death, prompting Taliban authorities to launch an investigation.
