The Pakistani Foreign Ministry has issued a statement asking all Indian nationals to leave Pakistan “as soon as possible.”
The Pakistani Foreign Ministry statement, released on Friday (25th Asr), said that all visas issued to Indian nationals have been cancelled; they must leave Pakistan within 48 hours.
The Pakistani Foreign Ministry also said in the statement that;
“We will not allow any violation of our sovereignty or national security; our airspace will be closed to all Indian aircraft.”
This comes as tensions between New Delhi and Islamabad escalated after a deadly attack on tourists in Indian-administered Kashmir, in which 26 civilians were killed.
India has accused Pakistan of supporting the attackers;
but Indian police say they have identified three suspects, including two Pakistanis. Following the attack, India suspended the Indus Water Treaty and closed the land border with Pakistan. Islamabad expelled Indian diplomats and warned that it would consider the water cut as an “act of war.”
