Pakistan’s Military: Afghan Taliban Facilitate TTP Infiltration.
Pakistan Army spokesperson Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has stated that “unprovoked” gunfire by Taliban fighters toward Pakistani border units is enabling the infiltration of terrorist groups into the country. He said these actions have intensified insecurity along the shared frontier.
According to Geo News, Chaudhry told reporters on Friday evening that border protection is a mutual responsibility requiring cooperation from both sides. He added, “On the other side, there is a country whose border posts first engage ours, initiating an exchange of fire; afterwards, members of the TTP are moved through the same gaps.”
Over the past four years, Taliban forces and Pakistani border guards have repeatedly clashed—a trend that has heightened Islamabad’s concerns about the growing presence of armed groups along the border.
