Reactions to Mohammadi Mohaqqiq’s book: From praise to sharp criticism.
Mohammad Mohaqqiq, leader of the Islamic Unity Party of the People of Afghanistan and head of the National Resistance Council’s political committee, has released his latest book titled “My Destiny and the Difficult Path of Struggle.”
This two-volume work is an autobiographical account of several decades of his life, covering his childhood, years of jihad, civil wars, role in the republican government, and eventual departure from Afghanistan following the Taliban’s return to power.
The book’s release has sparked widespread and varied reactions on social media. Some analysts and users view it as an effort to clarify his historical role, while others describe it as an attempt to rewrite his political past. Critics, pointing to his departure from the country after the fall of the republic, have questioned his leadership legitimacy, stating: “A leader who could not stay with his people—why should anyone learn from his life or read his book?” The debate highlights renewed discussions about the role and responsibilities of former political figures.
