The National Resistance Front issued a statement claiming responsibility for the attack on a Taliban base in Dara District, Panjshir Province, on the evening of Monday, December 8, 2025.

According to the statement, 17 Taliban members, including the chief of staff of one of the special brigade units of the Taliban Ministry of Defense, were killed and five others injured. The Taliban have not commented on the incident, and the figures reported cannot be independently verified.

The Resistance Front said the operation took place in two stages: first, the detonation of an improvised explosive device, followed by a rocket strike on the gathering of Taliban forces.

The targeted base was located in the village of Manjsto, Dara Abdullah Khel, and was considered one of the main Taliban centers in the area. The Resistance Front claims the base was completely destroyed.

The group emphasized that no members of the Resistance Front or civilians were harmed and that it will continue conducting “targeted” attacks in various parts of the country.

Some local sources had earlier suggested the attack was carried out by a drone, though no official source has confirmed this claim.
