The World Health Organization (WHO) has announced that the second positive case of polio will be recorded in Afghanistan in 2025. The case was identified in March in southern Helmand province, the agency said.
Although the World Health Organization did not provide further details on the patient, this is the second case of polio in Afghanistan this year.
The first case of polio was reported in Badghis province this year; A five-year-old girl from the village of Quroto in Bala Murghab district died of the virus.
