Local sources in Daikundi say that the Taliban in Khadir district have sentenced the director and five teachers of the “Afq-e-Naw” English language training center to three to five months in prison.

According to a reliable source, Sayed Habib Roshan, the director of the center, along with two teachers, were sentenced to five months in prison, and three other teachers to three months in prison.

These individuals were tried on Monday by the Taliban primary court on charges of “teaching English and Christian lessons.”

The Taliban had arrested these individuals in the month of Jadi and then released them on bail, but now they have been arrested again and are being prepared to be transferred to Nili prison.

The “Afq-e-Naw” center was operating in the Korga area of ​​Khadir district. The Taliban had previously closed the center’s representative office in Sangtakht and Bandar districts of Daikundi and arrested its teachers. There is no information about their fate.

The group has also closed an English language training center in Lal Wa Sar Jangal district of Ghor province. After returning to power, the Taliban have imposed extensive restrictions on educational activities, especially English language teaching.
