Sources: Several Taliban officers arrested on charges of abusing a woman.
Local sources in Badakhshan province report that a shocking incident (moral abuse of a woman by two men) occurred on Saturday in the first district of the old city of Faizabad.
According to eyewitnesses, after local residents were informed of the violent incident against a woman, Taliban forces from the first security district were dispatched to the area to investigate the matter.
Sources say that two male suspects fled the scene and the woman is being taken to the first security district by Taliban forces.
After that, allegations were made that several members of the first security district committed “serious moral violations and sexual abuse” with the woman in question.
Following the increasing public reaction, the Taliban police command in Badakhshan took action and arrested the deputy of the first district along with five related officials.
According to sources, the detained individuals are under investigation and no Taliban official has commented on the details of the incident so far.
