Sources: Taliban have asked Hamid Karzai to leave Afghanistan.
Reliable sources say the Taliban leader has asked former Afghan President Hamid Karzai to leave the country after listening to a private conversation.
According to the sources, people close to Taliban leader Hebatullah Akhundzada recorded Karzai’s private conversations with one of his guests.
In the audio tape, Karzai told his guest that “Mullah Hibatullah is not afraid of any political leader as much as I am, because my presence will mark the end of his political life and I am considered the only real political threat against him.”
The sources added that the remarks have caused serious concern to the Taliban leader.
According to reports, after the audio tape reached Hibatullah, his affiliates in Kabul asked Karzai to leave Afghanistan;
But Karzai has replied that Afghanistan is his homeland and he has no intention of leaving the country.
