Suspicious Death of a Newlywed in Kabul; Possible Homicide Alleged
Several local sources report the suspicious death of a 17-year-old girl in Kabul. She had married the son of a powerful figure close to the Taliban in the Taymeni area about a month ago and was found dead at her home two nights ago.
Sources say there are uncertainties surrounding the circumstances of her death, and it is suspected that members of her husband’s family may have been involved. Locals report that there had been prior disputes between the girl and her husband’s family.
According to the information, the deceased girl was originally from Chah Ab district in Takhar province. After the incident, her family was not allowed to transfer her body to their hometown and reportedly faced threats. Sources describe the husband’s family as influential and some identify him as an associate of Haji Bashir Noorzai, a well-known figure in the drug mafia, though these claims have not been independently verified.
