Taliban Await Retaliation; Mujahid Warns of a Heavy and Crushing Response.
Zabihullah Mujahid, in an unusually stern and warning tone, stated that Pakistan should “await a major and crushing response”; a response which, according to him, is not only certain but will be carried out at an unpredictable time and place.
He emphasized that the current silence does not signify weakness, but rather forms part of a calculated and severe response, the details of which remain undisclosed due to operational confidentiality.
Mujahid described Pakistan’s airstrike on a drug rehabilitation center in Kabul as a “horrific and unforgivable crime,” adding that the act has sparked widespread outrage both domestically and internationally.
According to him, the incident has been broadly reflected at the international level to expose the “true nature of this attack.” He warned that such actions will not go unanswered.
He also dismissed Pakistan’s claim about the presence of weapons manufacturing facilities at the site as a “blatant lie and an insult to public opinion,” stressing that the primary aim of the attack was to spread fear among civilians.
Mujahid concluded by stating that Afghanistan reserves the right to respond, and that this response will be “heavy, painful, and decisive.”
