Taliban bans celebration of Teachers’ Day in schools.
Taliban education officials in several Afghan provinces, including Kabul and Herat, have issued letters and verbal orders banning the holding of “Teacher’s Day” ceremonies in public and private schools.
According to a letter published today, Saturday, October 4, 2025, by the education departments of some cities, all schools have been instructed not to hold any programs on the occasion of Teachers’ Day.
The letter also emphasizes that collecting money from students and teachers under any title is prohibited and in case of violation, the responsibility will lie with the school administrators and heads.
